Round 7 vs Dural Warriors

A round in which anything was possible such was the closeness on the tables of a number of match ups, our club showed our fighting spirit and won a brilliant 7 out of 9 games for a total of 21 points. The highest number any opposition has taken away from the Warriors this season.

The excellent total was even more impressive considering it was done at fortress Dural.

The 12 Boys got the club off to a brilliant start where we knocked off second placed Dural with a hard fought 3-2 victory to go equal second in the standings.

The 12 Girls met their match in the physicality department in a very tough encounter but our girls proved their heart is equal to their ability. Down by 3 goals mid way through the second half our girls fought back and eventually triumphed by a single goal.

Our 14 Boys continued their unbeaten start to the season making it 7 on the trot whilst the 14 Girls reclaimed top spot with their single goal victory.

The 16 Boys were coasting 4-1 with 8 minutes to go and were seemingly cruising to victory when the Warriors came fighting back. Eventually our boys held on to win.

Our 16 Girls were coming off some bad results but with a new coach at the helm this week seemed to have the desired affect beating an opposition who were previously occupying 4th position which our girls have now taken.

The Youth Men was an absolute classic. Our boys always seem to lift when the big games come around and this was an epic encounter. A 1-0 victory was evidence in how well our boys defended against the previous table toppers.

Our Women had a hand in all 5 goals on the weekend unfortunately only 2 of them were for us. A disappointing result which now sees us outside the top 4.

Our Men like our womens team were the only teams which didn’t record a victory this week. Ill discipline cost our boys. In the space of 4 second half minutes our boys conceded 3 goals which effectively cost us the game.

Round 8 brings us to the start of the second half of the season against Club Championship Rivals the Mascot Vipers.
